Chorale Performs at Donor Banquet

Last Friday, March 30, Providence Chorale members drove to Pomona Valley Mining Co. to perform at the annual college donor banquet. After warming up, students spent some time socializing with guests before dinner was served. Guests included donors, Providence faculty and staff, and Student Senate representatives. After the guests finished dinner, the Chorale performed three songs led by Music Director Luana De Groot-Canty. When the guests finished applauding, the students returned to their seats to listen to the guest speaker. Article by Laura Fobar On Friday, March 23, the Sea Beggars made their way to the campus basketball courts where Student Senate organized an evening of Human Foosball.  Students were divided into three teams of about fifteen players each. Each player clutched a section of rope covered with a piece of a garden hose and ran side-to-side across the Foosball “field,” trying to score as many goals as possible. After the three teams had played tournament-style, Team Two was declared champion. Two teams of men then faced off, followed by two teams of women.

On Tuesday March 13th, a group of Providence students drove to CBS Studios in Studio City, CA. to watch a production team film the episode of the sitcom Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen. Providence students were one of the main groups in the live studio audience who provided laughter for recording which also boosted the performance of the actors on set. Before attending this Avodah, students were required to watch at least a couple episodes of this new television show in order to become familiar with its characters, setting, and story line.
